She is set to appear before a special sitting of Mullingar District Court this evening.
Gardaí have charged a woman in her 40s, in connection with the deaths of a two year old boy and a five year old girl in an the incident, in Multyfarnham, Co Westmeath, on the 9th of September.
She is due to appear before a special sitting of Mullingar District Court about now.
The woman was detained on Wednesday and was held at Mullingar Garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Thelma Dennany, 5, and her brother Mikey, 2, died in a car fire at Lacken in Multyfarnham. Their mother was pulled from the car but suffered serious injuries.
A criminal investigation was launched by Gardai shortly after the incident.
