The Irish Independent list has Ballyfin Demesne in Laois as the 14th best hotel in Ireland, with the venue being descibed as "one of Ireland’s few world-class resorts".
Westmeath's Glasson Lakehouse, which recently shut temporarily due to deal with a winter vomiting bug outbreak, is ranked in 48th position, with the Hodson Bay Hotel in Roscommon in 55th position.
Armada Hotel at the Spanish Point in Clare topped the list.
