That's according to Retail Excellence Ireland.
Consumers will be spending up to €200m a day in the post Christmas sales according to Retail Excellence Ireland.
The figures, provided to the Irish Independent, are despite a drop in physical sales due to the pandemic.
However the group is hoping that will be made up, at least in part, by online shopping.
Retail Excellence also believes today is likely to be a busier day than yesterday for shops, as St Stephens Day fell on a Sunday.
