A creche, remote working space and gym are also included in the development.
Plans for nearly 100 new homes in the midlands have been given the green light.
Offaly County Council have granted planning permission for 90 houses and eight apartments on the Clara Road in Tullamore.
The development forms part of the Redwood Residential Project, and will be named ‘Hayfield,’ a reference to the location known as ‘Kearney’s Field.’
It will include a mix of three and four-bedroom houses, and eight, two-bed apartments.
A ‘landmark’ building in the centre of the site will accommodate the apartments on the upper-levels, while the ground floor will be used as a creche, remote working space and a gym for residents.
The application received a number of submissions, with some nearby residents raising concerns a new access road will lead to groups of young people ‘loitering’ in the area, while others claimed the development would lead to traffic issues.
Offaly County Council granted planning permission subject to 26 conditions.
