It follows concerns from a local village of the difficulties in large vehicles trying to get around.
Offaly County Council is claiming roadworks in a local village will "provide a safer environment" and "slow down vehicles" in the area.
It follows concerns from residents in Rhode in relation to footpath works, which they claim is making it "impossible" for large vehicles to get around.
The local authority says the purpose of these works is to make the crossroads a raised table junction with no kerbs, with an aim to also remove unsafe and unregulated parking.
It says steep ramps in place are a temporary measure and all Active Travel Works are undertaken according to industry guidelines.
