50 jobs could also be supported during the construction phase of a new project.
30 new, permanent jobs could be on the way to the midlands.
Aldi is seeking planning permission for a new store between O'Connell Street and Offaly Street in Tullamore.
It would be the second shop operated by the discount retailer in the town, and will also support 50 jobs during the construction phase.
A decision from Offaly County Council is due by the 21st of August.
In a statement to Midlands 103, Managing Director of Buying and Services, ALDI Ireland, Colin Breslin says:
"ALDI can confirm that we have planning permission to open a second store in Tullamore in 2024.
The new store will see the creation of 30 new permanent jobs in the town, while up to 50 jobs will be supported during the construction period.
Every new ALDI store brings greater choice, quality and value to shoppers, while creating important well-paid jobs in the community. We look forward to developing and opening the store, and bringing unbeatable ALDI value to even more people in Tullamore."
