A Laois fishmonger was forced to closed his doors last month, due to a massive electricity bill.

Businesses should receive government support on rising energy bills by next month.

Leo Varadkar says legislation is going through the Dáil, which will cover 40% of the increase in electricity bills, up to ten thousand euro.

Al's Fish Shop in Portarlington was forced to close last month after its annual energy bill soared from 12 thousand euro to 37 thousand.
