County councillors are effectively 'post boxes' for the public because channels of communication within local authorities are so bad.
That's the view of Green Party rep Louise Heavin, who’s calling for a Westmeath County Council to produce a ‘who’s who’ contact booklet for public use.
However, the local authority has rejected the idea, saying contact details are already available on its website.
