Westmeath's newest County Councillor says she's hoping to use her experience in retail to help her in her new political role.
Carol Okeke is a temporary replacement for Mullingar Kinnegad's Green Party Councillor Hazel Smyth, who gave birth to baby Eric last month.
Under the Local Government Bill 2022, elected members can nominate a substitute to take their role for a maximum of 42 weeks, while they are maternity leave.
Ms.Okeke says it's her first time to get involved in politics:
