If given the green light, the store is expected to create 30 permanent jobs.
A decision on plans for a new multi-million euro Aldi store in the midlands is due today.
The new building from the discount retailer, which is proposed to be built on the Athlone Road in Moate, would lead to the creation of 30 permanent jobs if given the green light.
The €6.8 million store is also expected to support 50 jobs in the construction phase.
Aldi says it's aiming to open the new premises in Autumn 2025, if it receives planning approval, making it the fifth store in Westmeath.
