BNRG will be running a public information event in Portarlington in the coming weeks.
A public information and consultation clinic over a large scale solar farm in the midlands is taking place later this month.
Renewable energy company, BNRG has announced their intention to apply for planning permission for a 52 hectare project that will straddle both Laois and Kildare.
The proposed solar farm will cover parts of three separate landholdings.
One in Kilmullen, in Laois at 17 hectares, and two neighbouring farms located to its east in Coolnafearagh, in Kildare making up the remaining 35 hectares.
Public consultation will take place at the Portarlington Community Centre on the 21st of May and will run from 3.30pm until 6.30pm.
Experts from BNRG will be in attendance along with specialist engineering and environmental consultants from TOBIN Consulting Engineers.
The project promoters say they're placing significant focus on environmental matters to promote biodiversity, enhance hedgerows for screening, and to protect and enhance watercourses, soils and geology.
They also say there will be a Community Benefit Fund worth €800,000 in which locals would be invited to participate and to have their say in how the money would be invested over time.
BNRG Bracklone will be applying for planning permission from both Laois County Council and the local authority in Kildare this coming summer.
Subject to planning, the construction phase would take up to 12 months to complete.
