The Westmeath school teacher has once again refused to purge his contempt of court.
A schoolteacher who is in prison for contempt of court will now likely spend Christmas behind bars.
Enoch Burke has refused to purge his contempt and comply with the order not to attend work at Wilson's Hospital School in Westmeath.
The teacher, from Castlebar, Co Mayo, has been in prison since early September for breaching a court order to stay away from the school where he works.
Enoch Burke was suspended on full pay pending the outcome of an investigation into alleged misconduct, arising from his refusal to address a gender transitioning student by another name.
He was later jailed for contempt for breaching a court order to stay away from the school until the process is complete.
Speaking via videolink to the High Court this afternoon, Mr. Burke said he was "not a thief, a murderer or a drug dealer", and was behind bars because of religious objections to "transgenderism".
