Enterprise Minister Defends Plans To Increase Personal Injury Awards

Longford-Westmeath TD Peter Burke says rising insurance prices should also be held accountable.

The Enterprise Minister is defending plans to increase personal injury awards. 

A Cabinet sub-committee is meeting today to examine recommendations from the Judicial Council for a 17% increase in the threshold. 

A recent Central Bank report found the cost of settling motor claims rose 23% in the first six months of last year, compared to 2023.
