It's ahead of the 100th anniversary of the police force next year.
Former gardaí and their families are being asked to contribute to a new project, capturing the history of the force.
The initiative is being launched by the Garda Síochána Retired Members' Association, ahead of the 100th anniversary of the police service next year.
John O'Brien, who served as Detective Chief Superintendent in Laois/Offaly in the 1990s, says they're particularly interested in the living history between 1970 and the early 2000s:
