An Athlone man has died while on holidays in Malta.
Former Businessman, Noel Ryan, passed away after getting into difficulty while swimming at St Julian's Bay.
The Police were called to the scene shortly after 12.30 yesterday afternoon and with the the assistance of members of the Civil Protection and the Armed Forces of Malta, the man was brought ashore and was assisted by a medical team.
