At around 8 pm last Thursday, the incident happened at Ballynacargy Church.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a robbery from an oil tank at a Westmeath church.
The incident occured at Ballynacargy Church at around 8pm on Thursday evening.
Around 600 litres of oil is believed to been stolen from the heating system.
Gardai are asking anyone who observed anything suspicious around that time or has CCTV footage of the incident to contact Mullingar Garda Station.
