Gardaí in Westmeath have seized an e-scooter after its rider failed to stop.
Officers in Westmeath stopped the machine after spotting two young people riding it, while the passenger was holding a phone in front of the operator so they could continue a video call.
They also failed to stop when directed to by Gardaí.
The machine was seized after it was found to have defective brakes, and has been sent for examination.
It follows two other e-scooter seizures by Gardaí in the county, which were being operated by under-16s.
Gardaí are reminding people it's illegal to carry more than one person or use a mobile phone while operating an e-scooter.
