Laois came in with the highest failures in the region.
97% of domestic sceptic tanks in Laois failed inspection last year.
Westmeath follows with 92%, meanwhile in Offaly, the rate of failure is 70%.
Nationally 56% of sceptic tanks failed inspection in 2024.
Local Authorities looked at nearly 1,400 tanks near rivers and household drinking water wells.
The figures from the Environmental Protection Agency also found that 82% of failures between 2013 and 2024 were fixed by the end of last year.
