The Traveller Community want to keep their culture alive in the hearts of young members.
An event for Traveller Pride is taking place in the midlands today, with an exhibition of photos through the generations and old campfire equipment and tents.
People are invited to Portarlington at the Community Hub from 1pm until 4pm this afternoon.
Member of the Traveller Community and health care worker, Bridget McInerney says it will give people an opportunity to learn the history of Travellers:
Elsewhere there's an exhibition hosted by Offaly Traveller movement on Friday.
Visitors can experience life in the handcrafted wagon and shelter tent and will have opportunity to ask questions and talk directly to members of the Traveller community.
The event is taking place at Charleville Castle in Tullamore.
St Kieran’s Community Centre in Athlone will also be holding an event for Traveller Pride on Friday.
