It follows an emergency board meeting called by Francie Gorman after revelations about Brazilian beef.
The IFA President and Director of Bord Bia is calling for the resignation of its chair Larry Murrin.
It follows an emergency general meeting of its board today called by Ballinakill's Francie Gorman, after it was discovered Mr Murrin's company uses Brazilian beef.
He tabled the formal proposal when Mr Murrin refused to resign during the meeting , as he felt it was needed in order to restore farmer confidence in Bord Bia.
The acting chair directed it was a matter for the Agriculture Minister to decide.
