David Brown's Family Grateful For Wave Of Support They've Received 

A hurl and a helmet were brought to the alter to represent his love of sport.

A Laois teenager, who died in a quad bike accident, is being remembered as a gifted, popular man who was full of life. 

David Brown's was held in Ss Peter and Paul’s Church in Portlaoise. 

A white coffin was carried into the packed church shortly after mid-day, while family and friends from the UK, Germany and Australia tuned in online to say goodbye to David who passed away earlier this week. 

A helmet, a hurl and the jersey he wore last Saturday were among the gifts brought to the alter by his best friends David and Liam. 

Ray Meredith told the congregation the 15-year-old was always trying to perfect and improve his GAA skills:

David's little sister Sarah brought forward a family photo. 

Monsignor John Byrne says David's accidental death on Easter Sunday has shocked and saddened the community. 

His mum Carmel says it was a wonderful gift to be a parent to David and his siblings. 

She said he lived his life with adventurous spirit and hopes the great memories of him will help carry her through the long days ahead. 

His family say they have been blessed to be hit by a tsunami of support this week. 

They are particularly grateful for the support and reflective event was held by Portlaoise GAA on Monday to allow, his family, friends and team mates gather to grieve and share stories.
