A Longford Westmeath TD is putting pressure on the government to urgently review the age limit for school bus drivers.
Fine Gael's Micheál Carrigy is calling for an evaluation of the policy that prevents people over the age of 70 from driving school buses under the School Transport Scheme.
Currently there's a mandatory retirement age of 70 for Bus Éireann school bus drivers despite staffing challenges across the country.
He is insisting medically fit drivers to be allowed to continue working beyond this age.
