It was discovered while searching a car.
A machete was discovered in a car seized by gardaí in Offaly.
Gardaí on patrol in Edenderry yesterday stopped a driver who had no licence, insurance and tax.
The weapon was found following a search of the vehicle, which the drive had no reasonable excuse for having in his possession.
The driver also claimed he was out "cruising" when gardaí reminded him of the current covid-19 restrictions.
