Glass lay everywhere after the Sunday evening's incident.
A man has been arrested after an attack on a garda station in Westmeath.
A number of windows in and outside Athlone Garda Station were smashed in yesterday evening.
It appears a beer keg may have been used, in what gardaí are calling a 'criminal damage' incident, to crash through the front window of the the Barrack street station, the reception area window, as well as windows on a garda car and a garda van.
The man, who is in his 30s, has been arrested and charged, and is expected to appear before Mullingar District Court at 10.30am this morning.
