Philip Meagher from Midland Legal Solicitors in Portlaoise is facing proceedings in the High Court.
The man behind a popular Laois music festival is being suspended from practising law.
The Law Society of Ireland brought High Court proceedings against Forest Fest founder Philip Meagher from Midland Legal Solicitors in Portlaoise at the start of this month.
The Irish Times is reporting Mr Meagher has been ordered to cease practising, disclose his bank accounts and assets, provide six years of statements, and propose an orderly wind down of the practice.
In a statement to Midlands 103, Mr Meagher says his office is "positively engaged in a process with the Law Society" and that the primary issue which gave rise to the proceedings had been addressed before the order was made.
The case will return to the High Court on Friday, November 9th.

Here is Mr Meagher's statement to Midlands 103 in full:
"Further to the recent order my office is now positively engaged in a process with the law society. This process will incorporate a number of actions to include various positive proposals to move on from this point, details of which are being actively worked on. The primary issue giving rise to the order had been addressed prior to the order being made. As this is an active process no further comment would be appropriate at this point"
