Gardaí are appealing to the public for witnesses.
A man has died after a road crash on the M7 in Kildare.
Its the first road death of 2024.
This crash happened on the westbound side of the motorway at 8.45pm last night between Junction 12 Newbridge and Junction 13 Kildare.
A man in his 20s died after the car he was a passenger in, left the road and hit a grass bank.
The driver, also in his 20s, was taken to Tallaght University Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Two other men in the car, both in their 20s, didn't need medical treatment.
The M7 westbound is currently closed between Junction 12 and Junction 13 to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.
Gardaí at Kildare Station are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling on the M7 between J12 and J13 at the time of the collision are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
