A man who was assaulted in Kildare in the early hours of Sunday morning has died.
Emergency services attended the scene on the Dublin Road in Monasterevin shortly after 12.30am, where they found an unresponsive man who was taken to Tallaght Hospital in a critical condition.

A post mortem exam is due to take place, and the results will determine the course of the investigation.
Another man, in his 50s, was taken to Portlaoise Hospital and has since been transferred to Tallaght Hospital with injuries described as serious.
Investigating gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to this incident to contact them.
