EU countries like France and Italy are looking to delay a final vote on the deal.

A Midlands MEP says a vote on the controversial Mersocur deal will come down to the wire.

It's set to provide the importation of South American beef into European markets and provide a €50 million euro boost to exports.

Ireland is among countries opposing the deal, with other countries like France and Italy seeking to delay a final vote on the deal, which now looks to take place in January.
