A midlands carer who saw her weekly allowance reduced to just €18 is hoping a Supreme Court appeal will set a new precedent for carers.
Portarlington's Anne Murray is a full-time carer for her daughter Rachel, and had her allowance cut from €236 to €18, after her husband received a pay rise.
Another woman has lodged an appeal with the Supreme Court, which sees her citing article 41.2 in a bid to argue she shouldn't have been refused the maximum allowance.
