Midlands Gardaí have rescued an injured swan.
Officers in Athlone were called to the scene of the distressed animal on the N6 near Junction 12.
The swan was caught by Gardaí Darren Murphy and Tricia O'Connor, and it's now being taken to the vets by a volunteer from the ISPCA.
They say they hope the animal makes a full recovery.
