The bogus callers are offering tarmacking and guttering services.
Westmeath County Council is warning people to be on the lookout for bogus staff members.
It follows reports of people pretending to be local authority staff, offering tarmacking or guttering services.
In a post on social media, the Council is urging householders to ask for authorised identification if they are suspicious of someone at their door.
It's also advising them not to engage with the caller, and instead contact their local Garda station.
