Management have released a statement to explain the decision.
A midlands nursing home is due to close after 25 years in business.
Tearmainn Bhride Nursing Home in Brideswell Athlone will be closing its doors in the next few weeks, as it's 'no longer viable' going into the future, according to the Curley family.
The facility had received planning permission for an extension of 60 new beds, but failure to secure a financial partner mainly due to the 'low fair deal rate and current economic climate,' saw plans fall through.
Staff at the home are working with families to ensure their residents find a new home.
The Curley family are thanking their staff, residents and the local community for the memories created over the past 25 years.
