Bord Na Móna has announced it used peat for the final time at the Edenderry Power Station, marking the end of the company's extraction or commercial use of the fossil fuel.
It's also investing €100m into the Renewable Energy Complex at the site in Edenderry, which will be used for its decarbonisation and use of 100% biomass.
The announcement is the final step in the company's Brown to Green transition strategy.
