Aglish National School in Roscrea will be closed on August 31st.
Parents in the Midlands are expressing anger as a primary school is set to close its doors for good in August.
Aglish National School in Roscrea will be closed on August 31st, after enrolling no new pupils for the upcoming school year and low enrollment numbers in recent years.
The school's patron Bishop Fintan Monahan announced the decision in a statement online, saying it's 'no longer viable' for the school to remain open after consulting the Department of Education.
Parents are stating on social media that they had not been consulted or been able to raise the issues themselves with local representatives or the Department before the decision to close.
