Midlands Students Take Part In Energy Saving Workshops

Secondary school students attend the Green Schools’ Energy workshop.

Teachers and students from Edenderry and Mountmellick joined the Green Schools initiative.

Students in the Midlands have taken part in electricity saving workshops.

Students and their teachers from Edenderry in Offaly and Mountmellick in Laois took part in this Green Schools programme which is in partnership with EirGrid.

The initiative which was held in Portlaoise, included activities and experiments to raise awareness about energy consumption and the importance of moving to renewable power.

To date, over 3,000 schools have been awarded the energy flag since the beginning of the Green-Schools programme in 1997.
