Laois Offaly Fianna Fáil TD Barry Cowen will chair the Budgetary Oversight Committee, taking over from Neasa Hourigan, according to the Irish Independent.
The Green Party TD lost her position on all Oireachtas Committees after voting against the government on a Sinn Féin motion to extend the eviction ban.
TD Francis Noel Duffy and Patrick Costello turned down offers for the role.
The position carries a salary of €9,500.
The Committee on Budgetary Oversight reviews the macro-economic and fiscal issues that form part of budget considerations.
