Midlands TD Wants A Freeze On International Work Permits During Pandemic

It's after Keeling's Fruit flew nearly 200 workers from Bulgaria to work for the company.

A review will be carried out this weekend after flights were chartered to bring people to Ireland to work in the horticulture sector.

Leo Varadkar has said any changes to current rules would be made following a Cabinet committee meeting on Monday.

Keeling's Fruit in Dublin has come in for criticism after it flew nearly 200 workers from Bulgaria in to work for the company.

It insists they were screened by doctors in their home country before flying here.

Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil's calling for the government to stop giving work permits to some international citizens during the pandemic.
