Midlands TDs Declare Rental Properties And Land In Latest Dáil Register

35 members of the Dáil declared rental income from property or land last year.

Several midlands TDs are declaring their assets in the  latest edition of the Dáil register of interests.

TDs are legally obliged to declare their income from land or property.

The register shows Longford-Westmeath Fianna Fail TD and Minister Robert Troy has rental income from eight properties in Westmeath and Dublin. 

He also listed his Mullingar constituency office among his assets, and listed another Mullingar property as a future principal private home.

His party colleague in Offaly Deputy Tony McCormack declared earnings from a house and an apartment, but didn't specify their locations.

Fine Gael TD and Enterprise Minister Peter Burke owns his late mother's house, along with two pieces of land for farming in Westmeath.

Minister Martin Heydon rents out farmland at Aghcross in Laois, Willie Aird owning land for farming near Portlaoise and Longford-Westmeath's Micheál Carrigy owning a vacant post office and retail unit, offices in Longford, and a 25% share in land.

Offaly’s Indepedent Deputy Carol Nolan lists herself as the landlord of a two-bedroom cottage in Birr, which she part owns with her husband, with Independent TD Brian Stanley owning his constituency office in Portlaoise.

All TDs and senators must also declare  any source of income over €2,600 which comes from another source.
