Laois is one of seven counties included in the pilot programme.

A midlands teacher is voicing concerns about how the government will resource a new student counselling programme.

The initiative will be available to primary school pupils in seven counties, including Laois, from September.

Niamh Campion is Principal of Raheen National School and says she's "delighted" with the pilot.

However she is worried about the support infrastructure that's available:
