Councillors in Westmeath want the Department of Finance to boost access to cash in their area.
Labour Councillor Denis Leonard says there's not enough ATM's in rural areas such as Kinnegad, Rochfortbridge and Killucan.
That's despite the enactment of the Access to Cash Act late last year which states banks must make sure there's ATM's within 10 kilometers of homes.
A letter may also be sent to the Central Bank to argue there's insufficient cash services in those areas.
