More Properties In Offaly To Connect To Fibre Broadband Ahead Of Schedule

Areas near Banagher, Birr and Tullamore will be connected a year early.

Almost 7 thousand 5 hundred properties across Offaly are set to become connected to fibre broadband earlier than expected.

National Broadband Ireland has been carrying out the works as part of the Government's National Broadband plan.

5 thousand of the premises are being brought forward from 2026 with homes, farms and businesses to avail of a connection four months sooner than expected, in areas near Banagher, Birr and Tullamore.

Nationally, over 4,500 new premises are connecting to the network each month.
