That figure comes after the scheme was extended in May.
Over 3,000 18-year-olds in the midlands have received Children's Benefit.
The scheme was extended to include 18-year-olds in May, benefiting more than 1,000 children in Westmeath, 973 in Laois, and 949 in Offaly.
Around the country, 58,000 young people have received the payment, which stands at €140 per month, since the extension.
Minister for Social Protection, Heather Humphreys, says the extension of Child Benefit is a long term change for the better: "The Department will be in touch if any updates to the education certificate are required. A new certificate must be issued in the event of it expiring before the child's 19th birthday."
