Nearly 30 members of An Garda Síochána were included in today's appointments and allocations.
A new Chief Superintendent has been appointed to the Laois, Offaly and Kildare Garda division.
Anthony Lonergan, who was previously Superintendent for Waterford, has been assigned to the position following a promotion.
Mr. Lonergan is one of nearly 30 members of An Garda Síochána included in today's appointments and allocations, which stems from promotions and consequential transfers.
He has nearly 30 years in the force, having joined in 1993.
He replaces John Scanlon who retired last April.
