The number in ICU remains the same as yesterday though.

The number of covid patients in midlands hospitals continues to fall.

It's dropped to 23 today - the lowest level since January 5th.

Number in ICU remain unchanged - with eight covid patients in a critical condition.

There is currrently no intensive care capacity in Tullamore Regional Hospital and one available bed in both Mullingar and Portlaoise.

488 people in total are being treated for covid in Irish hositals today - the lowest number since December 30th - with 115 patients in ICU.
