Numbers Claiming PUP In The Midlands Rising Once Again

However, it's still less than half the number of people who were out of work on May 5th.

The number of people claiming the Pandemic Unemployment Payment in the midlands is increasing once again.

Just under 14,500 people will receive their PUP today, a jump of 2,732 on last week.

That's still less than half the number of people who were out of work on May 5th, which was 29,200.

Westmeath remains the most affected county in the region, with 6,000 people receiving support.

Just over 4,300 are getting the payment in Laois, and 4,100 in Offaly.
