He was raising funds for Do It For Dan and PPE for frontline workers.
An Offaly man has done it for Dan.
Michael Verney did 1,000 press ups in an hour last night.
He says he was inspired by Ray Moylette to undertake the challenge, which was raising money for Laois baby Dan Donoher who needs life saving treatment in the US.
The Irish Independent correspondent was also raising funds for Personal Protective Equipment for frontline workers.
He raised over €14,000 for the two charities.
