A Laois councillor is dismissing a claim by the organisers of Electric Picnic that the festival will definitely take place in 2021.
Aisling Moran says it remains impossible to make a firm decision in the current climate.
Permission will need to be granted by Laois County Council for the event to take place.

Earlier, one of the chief organisers said the festival would go ahead with or without a vaccine for covid-19.
The Irish Mirror quoted Head of Festival Republic Melvin Benn as saying they can work through the problem with a really good testing regime.
The 70,000 sold out festival was due to take place in Stradbally this weekend with acts such as Snow Patrol, Chemical Brothers and Rage Against The Machine.
It was cancelled in the middle of May at the height of the pandemic restrictions in Ireland.
