Over 300 Irish Soldiers Spending Christmas In Lebanon

The 127th Infantry Battalion was deployed from Athlone's Custume Barracks.

More than 340 Irish soldiers are preparing to spend Christmas in Lebanon. 

They're part of the 127th Infantry Battalion, which was deployed on a six-month UNIFIL peacekeeping mission from Custume Barracks in November. 

Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mark Lennon from Longford says it's tough, especially for those spending their first Christmas away from family.
