Over €13m In Midlands HSE Funding Announced

The HSE'S Building and Equipment Capital Plan for 2026 sees investment for health facilities in the region.

Just over €13 million is being allocated to hospitals and health facilities across the Midlands.

The funds come from the HSE's Building and Equipment Capital Plan for 2026 to develop and modernise healthcare infrastructure.

Just over €6.1 million  is going to services in Laois -  with around €1.1 million allocated to the first phase of HIQA works for a 50 bed unit at St. Vincent's Mountmellick.

While over €673,000  is allocated to a new building on St.Fintan's Campus to create Portlaoise Primary Care Centre.

Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise gets €350,000 to construct a two-storey emergency department extension for adult and pediatric care.

In Offaly, the total figure is around €3.3 million with over €842,000 going to Birchwood House in Tullamore for a 10 Bed High Support Community Residence accommodation.

The Regional Hospital in Tullamore gets over €1.1 million for additional dialysis treatment spaces - and a separate €617,000 for an extension to the oncology day ward.

€3,497,110 is heading to Westmeath with €1 million going to Mullingar Resource Centre and €1.1 million for the Primary Care Unit at St.Loman's Campus.

In Athlone, funding will go to a new ambulance base, injury unit facilities, and a new residential unit at St.Vincent's Hospital.
