The County Council has given the go-ahead for development on three Summerhill sites in Portlaoise.
The green light has been given for 202 new homes and a crèche in Laois.
The County Council has approved planning permission across three sites at Summerhill in Portlaoise.
The development will form phases two, three and four of the Sand Wood estate, which already has approval for 112 houses.
The homes will be built by Bircrest Ltd, a subsidiary of the London-based Hollybrook Group, following a recent land rezoning.
The plans include a mix of house types, public open space and improved road and active travel links.
Construction is expected to begin as soon as planning and construction timelines allow.
